Bluesky API Integration
Connect your Bluesky account to OneScrip using App Passwords.
Prerequisites
- Active Bluesky account
- Access to your Bluesky account settings
Step 1: Create App Password
- Log into your Bluesky account at bsky.app
- Go to Settings → Privacy and Security
- Scroll down to "App Passwords"
- Click "Add App Password"
- Name it "OneScrip" or any name you prefer
- Copy the generated password immediately (you won't see it again)
Required Information for OneScrip
You'll need the following information to connect your Bluesky account:
Service
The Bluesky service URL. For most users, this will be:
https://bsky.social
Handle/ID
Your Bluesky handle, for example:
username.bsky.social
App Password
The app password you created in Step 1.
About Bluesky's Decentralized Protocol
Bluesky uses a decentralized protocol called AT Protocol. Most users will use bsky.social
as their service, but you can specify a different Personal Data Server (PDS) if you're using a custom instance.
Security Notes
- App passwords are safer than using your main account password
- You can revoke app passwords at any time from your Bluesky settings
- OneScrip encrypts and securely stores your credentials
- Consider using a unique app password for each service
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Authentication Failed
- Double-check your handle format (should include .bsky.social)
- Verify the app password is correct
- Ensure you're using the correct service URL
Service Not Available
- Check if your PDS is online
- Try using the default bsky.social service
- Verify your internet connection
Rate Limiting
- Bluesky has rate limits to prevent spam
- OneScrip automatically handles rate limiting
- Space out your posts if you're posting frequently
